Project Case Study
Brian Shephard of The Skeleton Crew was tasked with directing a promo video for Scholastic Book Fairs.
Brian turned to me for all the VFX shots.
We had four primary shot groups: A whale floating through the sky dragging a banner, an elephant and tiger in a jungle, an airplane interior and exterior, and an end shot with running dinosaur and floating astronaut.
I started on model prep and rigging right away and helped plan the shoot by designing a prop for the elephant's back for the girl to lay on as well as designing and building a 1:1 accurate plane seat for the shoot.
Here are some breakdown shots and early animation tests for various parts of this project.

Project took about 4 months start to finish including about a month of planning, pre-viz, and prep before the shoot.
Here is the final piece:
"Over the past 10 years, we’ve hired David Henion time and time again.
No matter what the project - full motion graphic pieces, 3D character animations, or text and logo builds - the attention to detail in his work is nothing short of extraordinary.
I would highly recommend Radiant VFX!"
